Recently, if you haven’t heard, my sister is comtemplating to drop the thought of retaking ‘A’ level, go to Americian Center and enroll herself into an American University. She has only consulted my aunt, maybe my other sister and myself? I can’t quite understand the university details so I had not much comments.
Today, my grandma brought dinner to my place, then she kept nagging at my other sister and yours truly about my eldest sister wanting to go to the States to study. She asked why did she have to go so far, why can’t she just study in Singapore or at most Australia, why this and that. You know it, I can’t answer anything cos I don’t understand a damn, I only know it would cost a bloody more than a bomb to go to America and study, maybe you’d end you smoking weed or pot, I have no idea. Then it went on and on for like about an hour or longer than that, I almost went deaf cos I couldn’t justify why my sister wants to go to the States to study. I seriously have no idea.
I got a bit frustrated with my grandma after a while because she said something like my sister can just go to work, which I am very sure (and very sorry to say) if it were my cousins she wouldn’t say the same thing. Because she said even degree holders can’t get jobs now, it would just be the same if my sister went to university. (That’s precisely why people have to grab a degree no matter what it takes) and she went on saying that she could just get married later on in life and a job wouldn’t even matter. Later, I figured it must be the age gap. What else could it be! Sigh, and as if all guys can be reliable now right! What a world we’re living in.
Anyway I thought for the world’s longest ever time where to go after O’s. I browsed through nearly all the pre-university education institutes’ sites, I can memorize some even. I didn’t even see the least I liked except that I saw a subject combination of H2 Econs, Geog & Biology and H1 Math. That’s like the ideal thing I would like to study. Then again, I am known for being indecisive!
And am I really getting naggy?
